1. Ezekiel 28:16

• He was cast out from God’s Presence.

2. Genesis 3:14

• God pronounced judgment on him in Eden.

“So the Lord God said to the serpent: “Because you have done this, You are cursed more than all cattle, and more than every beast of the field; On your belly, you shall go, and you shall eat dust all the days of your life.”

3. Luke 10:17-19

• Jesus defeated Satan’s demons, and Satan fell from his position in the heavenly realms.

“Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

4. Colossians 2:14-15

• Jesus defeated and disarmed him at the cross.

“having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.”

5. Ephesians 2:2,6; 6:12; Revelation 12:7

• There is a war now in the “heavenly places,” which will end with Satan being cast down to earth.

“in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,

and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,”

“And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought,”

6. Revelation 20:1-3

• At the return of Jesus, Satan will be bound for a thousand years.

“Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things, he must be released for a little while.”

7. Revelation 20:10

• His final judgement and total destruction are foretold.

“The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.”
